Why is it that when I'm shaken (and stirred!) that all my ick spills over? My tendency is to worry and obsess and talk way too much about whatever's bothering me. And then a Spiritual Hazardous Waste Team needs to come in and do cleanup. Makes me wonder why I don't let all that ick inside of me spill over to God instead of those around me. If I prayed more...I think...I wouldn't spill over so much.
How do other people keep it all from spilling over when they're shaken at work, in life, or in ministry? Tips please!

Thanks for being real. I've been "spilling" for a couple of days.

I think it is sometimes natural for us to spill over at some situations, depending on the situation and what kind of position we're in. We may not see some people's spillage; they may spill over privately by going in another room to scream so as not to set bad examples for others.
We teach early childhood students at school that it is ok to get angry at some things but we can't hurt others. We have a cozy corner in the classroom where they can go to relax, breath, get it together, even hit the big pillows. It's a learning process but throughout the year we begin to see students go to that corner when they get upset.

That's what I need! A padded room with really big pillows! :-)

I have some trusted friends who I can "spill" over to, and they can do the same with me. I also trust them enough to let me know when I am "spilling" on others or if my "spilling" is just plain whining sometimes... What? Wait!! I don't ever whine...
