Brian Haynes' new book "Shift: What it takes to finally reach families today" will be out this August. A sneak peek: Brian advocates maximizing 7 key milestones in a child's life--from birth through adulthood.
What are the milestones your church celebrates with families? How do you make the most of these times? What do you call them: milestones, rites, what?
Our Milestones
1.Parent/Child Dedication (birth & up)
2.First Bible Presentation (end of Kindergarten)
3.Children's New Member class - (Parent & Child class with special dedication/communion service)
4.Club56 - Transitional ministry for 5th/6th graders that prepares them for Youth Group.

Thanks, Lisa! Are there any milestones you guys mark in the youth area? When you say "milestones," do your parents know what you're talking about? Or is there a better more understandable term they understand?
