Miley Cyrus
Check out our poll on the childrensministry.com homepage. Will the Vanity Fair photo of Miley Cyrus have any impact on the kids in your ministry?
And check out this great article on how to talk to kids about it: http://www.pluggedinonline.com/read/read/a0004044.cfm

I posted my thoughts and a link to a Toronto Globe and Mail article about Miley on my blog http://tinyurl.com/3p8e5p
I think, most of all, that we don't make this a bigger deal than it needs to be. We acknowledge it happened, that it was probably unwise and then point to what a wise decision looks like.

Henry, Darnit.. How am I supposed to have permission to freak out with you being so rational? ;)
The photo shoot is probably a marker cueing parents to be diserning regarding possible changes in the lyrical content and video images that Miley will be producing. It's a cue that like Brittany, et al, before her, Miley is reinventing her brand.

I am a fan of Annie Lebowitz's work, BUT at exactly what point do we hold Ms. Lebowitz accountable for even suggesting those poses to a minor? or Miley's father?
Why is all the blame focused on the child? I know Miley is part of the public domain, but she's still a vulnerable minor and the adults around her are the ones who have lost my respect.
